Our Experience Using the Frolic

Using a 0.25g bowl with the airflow opened up, the Frolic was able to extract material quickly and evenly. In our testing, temperatures around 190–200°C produced dense vapour early on, with the bowl typically finishing in around 2 to 3 fuller draws, depending on how it was packed and your draw technique. The extraction appeared even throughout, with a well-roasted finish and no obvious hotspots.

Heating and Performance

The Frolic uses a hybrid heating system, combining both convection and conduction for balanced performance.

Session Mode and On-Demand Mode

Session Mode (40–220°C) Ideal for longer, continuous use. Even in session mode, the Frolic feels more powerful than many other session vapes at comparable temperatures.
On-Demand Mode (40–240°C) Best suited to users who want quick, powerful hits without keeping the heater active between draws. Heat-up is fast, making it a great choice for stop-start use.

Airflow and Vapour Smoothness

Materials used include Ultem (PEI), PEEK, stainless steel, and hard-anodised aluminium, while the airpath is fully isolated using a medical and aircraft-grade PEEK solution.

Cleaning is fairly simple and will feel familiar to users of Storz & Bickel devices. The cooling unit and mouthpiece come apart easily, and most components — aside from the O-rings — are dishwasher safe. It does involve a little more upkeep than something like an Arizer or Dynavap, but it is also designed for a very different level of performance.

How to Use the Frolic Vaporizer

Getting started with the Frolic is straightforward, and after a short adjustment period it becomes one of the easier high-powered dry herb vaporizers to use.

Install and charge the battery
Insert the 21700 Molicel P50B battery, remove the insulating sticker on new units, and fully charge using USB-C or an external charger.
Load the chamber
Fill the oven with around 0.25g of dry herb. A light, fluffy pack tends to work best.
Select your mode and temperature
Choose between Session or On-Demand mode and set your preferred temperature.
Adjust the airflow
Rotate the mouthpiece base to tailor the draw resistance to your liking.
Inhale
In Session mode, press once and inhale when ready. In On-Demand mode, hold the button while drawing.
Clean and maintain
Allow the device to cool, then brush out the oven after use. Remove the cooling unit for more thorough cleaning when needed.
